Job summary

El Super in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Meat Clerk to provide excellent customer service, assist customers, clean shelves and display cases, and collaborate with the Meat Cutter to determine which items to cut.

This on‑site role requires lifting up to 60 pounds, standing for extended periods, and holding a valid Food Handler Card. The starting rate is $16.50 per hour, with benefits including a 401(k) retirement plan and continuing education opportunities.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, and shelf tags.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one or small group situations.
• Apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Have a Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification (required).
• Retail Management Certificate (extra awesome).

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Assist customers, clean shelves, and display cases.
• Clean, fill, and rotate the Meat Wrap displays.
• Take special orders and work with the Meat Cutter to determine which items need to be cut.
• Lift up to 60 pounds, regularly lift and move up to 25 and 45 pounds.
• Stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for prolonged periods.
• Work in a fast‑paced grocery store environment.
