Position Summary
Responsible for meat operation including preparing, storing, cutting, cleaning, and serving meat.
Essential Functions
- Monitor food distribution and ensure guidelines are followed.
- Clean and sterilize dishes, utensils, equipment, and facilities.
- Maintain coolers, cases, and displays by keeping them stocked.
- Follow scheduled shift hours as assigned.
- Provide friendly, courteous, and prompt service to customers.
- Perform tasks as assigned by the meat or store manager.
- Maintain good communication with the meat manager.
- Share responsibility for controlling shrink.
- Record all hours worked and verify time reports.
- Ensure proper food preparation and serving procedures.
- Assist in recording and maintaining inventory and purchase records.
- Assist in inventorying products and taking a four-week meat inventory.
- Ensure product rotation and proper storage temperatures.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain cleanliness of the department.
Qualifications
- Less than high school education required.
- No prior experience necessary.
- Basic math skills and access to a phone required.
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting, standing, and handling equipment.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
Includes standing, walking, lifting various weights, and working in a grocery environment. Must wear PPE when handling heavy objects.
