Job Summary
Job Title: Meat Clerk
Reports To: Meat Manager
The Meat Clerk maintains stock levels within the Meat Department's sales floor by replenishing products as needed. They provide exceptional service to all guests both behind the service counter and on the sales floor, embodying the boomerang theory.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist guests in finding items on or off the sales floor
- Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and special requests
- Provide excellent guest service by professionally answering department calls and assisting guests on the sales floor
- Support teammates and positively contribute to the Meat Department's culture
- Address guest concerns and resolve issues using the boomerang principle
- Ensure high-quality standards by inspecting, rotating, maintaining proper temperatures, and replenishing all meat products on display
- Maintain proper inventory levels for supplies like containers, wraps, and tags
- Keep food safety logs and follow proper procedures to lead by example
- Meet quality standards, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm
- Attend work regularly and punctually, providing adequate notice for absences
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

- Ability to interact tactfully and effectively with customers and staff
- Good communication skills, both oral and written, capable of handling a diverse team in a stressful environment
- Understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies
- Ability to apply safety training to recognize and react to hazards; knowledge of equipment and procedures such as slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactors, and balers
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Stand for extended periods, with regular bending, stooping, and kneeling
- Full upper body mobility
- Lifting up to 80 pounds occasionally
- Exposure to extreme temperatures (freezers, coolers, kitchens, sales floor)
- Repetitive hand and wrist motions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
WORK SCHEDULE
This part-time or full-time position involves shifts that may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
