Job Summary

Job Title: Meat Clerk - Mid/Pm Shifts

Reports To: Meat Manager

Maintains stock levels within the Meat Department's sales floor by replenishing products as needed. Provides exceptional service to all guests both behind the service counter and on the sales floor, embodying the boomerang theory.

External Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist guests in finding items on or off the sales floor.
  2. Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and special requests.
  3. Provide excellent guest service by professionally answering department calls and assisting on the sales floor.
  4. Support teammates and contribute positively to the Meat Department culture.
  5. Address guest concerns and resolve issues using the boomerang principle.
  6. Ensure high-quality standards through inspection, rotation, proper temperatures, and replenishment of meat products.
  7. Maintain proper inventory levels for supplies like containers, wraps, and tags.
  8. Follow food safety procedures and keep logs accordingly.
  9. Meet quality standards, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm.
  10. Maintain regular, timely attendance with adequate notice for absences.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Ability to tactfully and effectively communicate with customers and staff.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; capable of handling a diverse team in a high-stress environment.
  • Understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies.
  • Ability to recognize and react to safety hazards, and knowledge of equipment like slicers, lifting techniques, trash compactors, and balers.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Stand, bend, stoop, and kneel regularly.
  • Full upper body mobility.
  • Lifting up to 80 pounds occasionally.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures in freezers, coolers, kitchens, and sales floors.
  • Repetitive hand and wrist motions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Schedule

This position is part-time or full-time, with varying shifts including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
