What Will Be On Your Plate?

Department: Meat

Reports To: Meat Manager

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Learn procedures and products offered in the Meat Department.
  • Master all codes used in the Meat Department.
  • Understand general cooking procedures and usage for all meat products.
  • Learn the production of prepared food items (marinades and stuffers).
  • Fulfill customer requests by retrieving items from behind the Meat Department counters.
  • Label and package customer purchases to prevent spills and ensure satisfaction.
  • Accurately weigh merchandise, using correct tare codes for pricing.
  • Set up displays and stock shelves, coolers, counters, bins, tables, freezers, and trays with new merchandise.

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or GED preferred; or 1-3 months related experience/training; or equivalent combination.

Physical Demands

Must regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle objects or controls. Occasionally reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Vision abilities include close and color vision.
