Job summary

MANN+HUMMEL is seeking a hands-on QA Lab Technician to perform measurements and tests at our onsite Fayetteville facility. You will support calibration programs, product audits, and documentation to ensure compliance with control plans and PPAP standards.

You will interpret drawings, calibrate instruments such as calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, and pressure gauges, and assist with SPC/MSA in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Onsite role with no visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in tool/part measurement, calibration, or machining in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in measurement activities.
• Ability to interpret drawings and requirements for quality parameters.
• Experience with calibration of measurement devices and in-process testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform measurements and laboratory tests for purchased parts, semi-finished parts, finished parts as per control plan and PPAP parts.
• Support R&D activities and product audits.
• Document results in Palstat QA software and maintain calibration records.
• Manage calibration system for production and quality measuring devices.
• Coordinate with external vendors on measurements and calibrations.
• Assist with SPC and MSA in production as needed.

Role Summary

This is an Onsite position based at our location in Fayetteville, NC.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform the measurements and laboratory tests for: Purchased parts, semi-finished parts, finished parts according to control plan, and PPAP parts
• Support R&D
• Product audits
• Support problem investigation
• Documentation within Palstat computer aided quality management software system
• Manage the calibration system of production & quality measuring and testing devices
• Measure components according to customer specification and relevant standards
• Support the proper use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) in production according to the control plan
• Supporting Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) if required
• Organizing external and internal equipment calibration
• Work with external vendors on product development, measurements and calibrations
• In case of non-conforming product, report immediately to request for further disposition
• Advise on proper measurement methods, equipment and identification of characteristics on drawings to support measurements
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education

• High School diploma or GED

Experience

• A minimum of 2 years' directly related experience in tool/part measurement, calibration, or machining within a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Required Skills

• Ability to interpret drawings and requirements for ensuring the adherence to agreed Quality parameters
• Expertise in performing tests in referring to the laboratory scope
• Expertise in the calibration of test equipment including the use of calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, pressure gauges, torque guns, etc.
• Intermediate computer usage skills to include Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel)
