Job summary

Successfactors in Fayetteville, NC is seeking a Measurement Laboratory Technician to perform measurements and testing on parts per control plans and PPAP requirements. You will support R&D, document results in Palstat, and manage calibration of production and quality measuring devices onsite.

Requires a high school diploma and at least 2 years of related tool/part measurement experience in fast-paced manufacturing. Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, and Excel is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years' direct experience in tool/part measurement, calibration, or machining.
• Ability to interpret drawings and requirements to ensure quality parameters.
• Familiarity with Palstat or other QA software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform measurements and laboratory tests for purchased, semi-finished, and finished parts per control plan and PPAP.
• Support R&D and document results in Palstat QA software.
• Manage calibration system for production and quality measuring devices.
• Measure components per customer specifications and standards.
• Support SPC usage in production per the control plan.
• Assist with Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) when needed.
• Organize external and internal equipment calibration.
• Collaborate with external vendors on measurements and calibrations.
• Report non-conforming products for disposition.
• Advise on proper measurement methods and equipment for drawings.

This is an Onsite position based at our location in Fayetteville, NC.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform the measurements and laboratory tests for: Purchased parts, semi-finished parts, finished parts according to control plan, and PPAP parts
• Support R&D
• Documentation within Palstat computer aided quality management software system
• Manage the calibration system of production & quality measuring and testing devices
• Measure components according to customer specification and relevant standards
• Support the proper use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) in production according to the control plan
• Supporting Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) if required
• Organizing external and internal equipment calibration
• Work with external vendors on product development, measurements and calibrations
• In case of non-conforming product, report immediately to request for further disposition
• Advise on proper measurement methods, equipment and identification of characteristics on drawings to support measurements
• Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• High School diploma or GED

Experience:

• A minimum of 2 years' directly related experience in tool/part measurement, calibration, or machining within a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Required Skills:

• Ability to interpret drawings and requirements for ensuring the adherence to agreed Quality parameters
• Expertise in performing tests in referring to the laboratory scope
• Expertise in the calibration of test equipment including the use of calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, pressure gauges, torque guns, etc.
• Intermediate computer usage skills to include Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel)

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge in statistical methodologies
• Palstat, or other computer aided quality management software
