Job summary

Raise is seeking a Measurement & Electrical Technician for a 12-month onsite contract in Hallettsville, TX. You will install, inspect, test, calibrate, and maintain measurement and electrical equipment at natural gas facilities, ensuring safety, compliance, and reliability.

Independent work with guidance to contractors when needed. Requirements include a high school diploma, 2+ years of related experience, CDL, and strong technical, mechanical, electrical, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Test, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate meters, regulators, valves, RTUs, EGM systems, gas analyzers, and related instrumentation.
  • Perform routine maintenance and operation of odorization systems, including injection rates and reporting.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot power supply systems and in-line heaters.
  • Verify instrument accuracy using specialized test and inspection equipment.
  • Conduct basic testing, inspections, and preventive maintenance for reliability.
  • Ensure electrical installations comply with codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Install, modify, and maintain small-diameter instrument piping and tubing.
  • Identify and verify pipe, valve, and fitting specs using measuring devices.
  • Develop, review, and maintain gas handling procedures and documentation.
  • Complete maintenance records, compliance docs, reports, and operational logs.
  • Assist with planning, scheduling, and budget-related information.
  • Recognize abnormal conditions and take corrective actions.
  • Participate in safety programs and training; maintain company policies.
  • Provide guidance to contractors and junior staff when required.
  • Perform additional duties in support of operations and maintenance as needed.

Job Overview:

  • The Measurement & Electrical Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of measurement, electrical, and control equipment used in natural gas facilities. This role supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of field assets while ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. The incumbent works independently on a variety of technical assignments and may provide guidance to contractors and less experienced employees when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate meters, pressure regulators, control valves, relief valves, pneumatic control devices, Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), Electronic Gas Measurement (EGM) systems, gas analyzers, and related instrumentation.
  • Perform routine maintenance and operation of odorization systems, including setting injection rates and reporting odorant usage and concentration levels.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot power supply systems and in-line heaters.
  • Verify the accuracy and functionality of instrumentation through the use of specialized test and inspection equipment.
  • Conduct basic testing, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
  • Ensure electrical installations comply with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Install, modify, and maintain small-diameter instrument piping and tubing systems.
  • Identify and verify pipe, valve, and fitting specifications using measurement and testing devices.
  • Develop, review, and maintain gas handling procedures and related technical documentation.
  • Accurately complete maintenance records, compliance documentation, inspection reports, and operational reports.
  • Assist with work planning, scheduling, and the development of budget-related information.
  • Recognize abnormal operating conditions and take appropriate corrective or escalation actions.
  • Consistently perform all work safely and actively participate in safety programs, initiatives, and ongoing training.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Foster positive working relationships and actively contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance to contractors and less experienced employees when required.
  • Perform additional duties, as qualified, in support of electrical controls, telecommunications, equipment operations, measurement systems, mechanical maintenance, and operations functions based on business and operational needs.

  • Support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of company assets and equipment.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of safety requirements, work practices, and applicable codes.
  • Participate in all company safety programs and initiatives.
  • Work with a high degree of independence while maintaining accountability for assigned responsibilities.
  • Although the position does not exercise formal supervisory authority, the incumbent may provide guidance and direction to contractors and junior personnel on routine work activities.

  • Contractors, service providers, and external stakeholders associated with facility operations and projects.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of directly related technical training and/or experience.
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the ability to maintain driving qualifications.
  • Strong technical, mechanical, electrical, and analytical skills demonstrated through education, training, and/or work experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and thorough knowledge of company safety policies and procedures.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with standard office software applications.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment that values integrity, inclusiveness, accountability, and respect.

Preferred:

  • Associate degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Technology, Electronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of measurement, electrical, instrumentation, and facility maintenance operations.
  • Demonstrated desire to learn, develop, and advance within the Measurement and Electrical Technician career path.
  • Experience supporting natural gas transmission, gathering, processing, or distribution facilities.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily field-based with outdoor work performed in a variety of environmental and weather conditions.
  • Periodic indoor office work for training, meetings, planning, reporting, and regulatory documentation.
  • Regular exposure to industrial operating environments and associated field conditions.
  • Required to work overtime, weekends, shifts, on-call assignments, standby rotations, and overnight travel as business needs dictate.
  • Must currently reside or be willing to relocate within 30 miles of the assigned reporting location.

Physical Requirements

  • The physical demands of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Hearing ability sufficient to safely respond to alarms, equipment sounds, verbal instructions, and environmental conditions.
