Job summary

Leonardo’s Marble & Granite is seeking a Measure Technician to visit residential and commercial job sites and accurately measure spaces for countertops, vanities, backsplashes, and other stone applications. You will record measurements, photos, and conditions to ensure precise fabrication and installation.

The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, frequent travel to job sites, and clear communication with customers, contractors, and the office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Previous experience in countertop measuring, construction, remodeling, cabinetry, stone fabrication, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to read and understand measurements, drawings, and job specifications.
• Comfortable using a tape measure and other measuring equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Professional communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple job sites.

Measure Technician

Leonardo’s Marble & Granite is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Measure Technician to join our team. The Measure Technician is responsible for visiting residential and commercial job sites to accurately measure spaces for custom marble, granite, quartz, and other countertop installations. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, has strong attention to detail, and understands that precise measurements are essential to ensuring a successful fabrication and installation. This position requires frequent travel to job sites, communication with customers and contractors, and the ability to work in a variety of environments.

Responsibilities

Field Measuring

• Visit residential and commercial job sites to take accurate measurements for countertops, vanities, backsplashes, and other stone applications.
• Measure cabinets, walls, openings, sinks, appliances, and other areas relevant to countertop fabrication.
• Record detailed measurements, notes, photos, and job-site conditions.
• Identify potential installation or measurement issues before fabrication begins.
• Verify that cabinets and surfaces are properly prepared and ready for measurement.
• Communicate any discrepancies or concerns to the office, project manager, and/or fabrication team.
• Create clear and accurate measurement drawings, sketches, and job notes.
• Confirm sink, faucet, appliance, backsplash, and overhang specifications when applicable.
• Follow company procedures and standards to ensure measurements are accurate and consistent.

Customer & Job-Site Communication

• Communicate professionally with homeowners, contractors, builders, designers, and other customers at job sites.
• Answer basic questions regarding measurements, installation requirements, and project details.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent Leonardo’s Marble & Granite positively.
• Coordinate with the office and installation team regarding scheduling, job-site access, and project requirements.

Quality & Safety

• Double-check all measurements and documentation before submitting jobs for fabrication.
• Identify potential problems such as uneven walls, out-of-level cabinets, insufficient support, plumbing conflicts, or appliance clearances.
• Follow all company safety procedures while working at job sites.
• Maintain measuring tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Keep accurate records and photographs for each project.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in countertop measuring, construction, remodeling, cabinetry, stone fabrication, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to read and understand measurements, drawings, and job specifications.
• Basic knowledge of construction, cabinetry, countertops, or remodeling is a plus.
• Comfortable using a tape measure and other measuring equipment.
• Ability to use a smartphone, tablet, or computer to document measurements and job-site information.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Professional communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple job sites.
• Must be able to bend, stand, reach, kneel, climb stairs, and work in various job-site conditions.
• Must be able to lift and carry measuring equipment and materials as needed.

Preferred Skills

• Experience using digital measuring tools or countertop measuring software.
• Experience creating sketches or digital measurement drawings.
• Knowledge of marble, granite, quartz, quartzite, porcelain, and other countertop materials.
• Knowledge of cabinet construction and countertop installation requirements.
• Previous experience working with contractors, builders, designers, or homeowners.
