Bentley Commons in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a friendly dining services team member to greet residents, take orders, serve meals, clear tables, and help keep the dining room welcoming and organized.

You will work as part of a compassionate team to provide attentive service, store mobility devices safely, and support dish room duties, making every meal a positive experience for older adults.

Qualifications

• Friendly, patient and dependable personality.
• Genuine interest in working with older adults.

• Ability to stay organized in a busy dining environment.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Previous restaurant, food service or wait staff experience is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Reliable and punctual attendance.

Responsibilities

• Greet residents warmly and provide friendly, attentive service.
• Set and prepare dining room tables before meals.
• Help residents find comfortable seating.
• Take meal and beverage orders.
• Serve meals, beverages, desserts, coffee and tea.
• Refill water and offer additional servings.
• Clear and reset tables between meals.
• Help keep the dining room clean, organized and welcoming.
• Assist in the dish room, including operating the dishwasher and putting away clean dishes.
• Safely store and return walkers and other mobility devices.
• Attend required meetings and in-service training.
• Work cooperatively with residents, families, visitors and coworkers.
• Complete other dining service duties as assigned.
