Job summary

Ardmore is hiring Direct Support Professionals to assist adults with disabilities in living, learning, and participating in their communities across Maryland. You will provide day-to-day support, personal care, and help residents engage in social activities and community outings.

The role requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The organization emphasizes person-centered planning, confidentiality, and teamwork in a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Earned High School Diploma.
• Valid Driver's License must be maintained.
• Reliable transportation.
• Experience in a residential setting serving people with intellectual/developmental disabilities or other special needs populations.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for periods up to 3 hours.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in achieving personal goals with a person-centered focus.
• Teach independent living and daily skills for personal care and environmental needs.
• Plan and participate in social activities and community outings.
• Instruct and assist with household tasks such as cleaning and meal preparation.
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy of people supported.
• Communicate with families, coworkers, supervisor and other providers to share timely information.
• Report incidents according to Ardmore's policy and procedures.
• Ensure health and safety of people supported and advocate for their rights.
