Job summary

Jewish Family Service LA seeks a Meal Service Coordinator to ensure that participants receive appetizing, safe food delivered on-site or at home. The role requires strong customer service, a valid CA driver’s license with insurance, and the ability to manage data entry and meal coordination for seniors.

You will organize nutrition sites, assist in packing meals, maintain records, and support outreach while ensuring food safety and compliance with HACCP guidelines.

Qualifications

• Customer service oriented
• Valid CA driver’s license with proof of insurance and clean driving record
• Experience with elderly or in social services
• Ability to maintain records and coordinate site activities
• Ability to work with volunteers
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic math and data entry skills
• Familiarity with email and database systems
• Ability to lift 30 lb and perform physical tasks
• Capable of repetitive duties and standing for long periods
• Criminal background check required

Responsibilities

• Organize and coordinate a senior nutrition site, including data entry and serving food per HACCP guidelines
• Coordinate and assist in assembling and packing home-delivered meals for delivery or grab-and-go
• Maintain records, attend meetings and trainings as required
• Conduct outreach to meet annual attendance goals
• Maintain food wastage under 3% and monitor temperatures and safety procedures
• Enter weekly client meal participation data for reporting
• Monitor donations and make deposits as needed
• Maintain waiting lists and update client databases
• Complete intake assessments and update the data system
• Comply with program guidelines and assist with office duties
