Job summary

Genesis Healthcare in Moses Lake, WA is seeking an RN to join our long-term care team. You will ensure proper reimbursement, develop individualized care plans, and support the MDS process, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate assessments. A strong regulatory knowledge base is essential for success.

Responsibilities include identifying patient needs, supporting staff training, and staying current with RAI/Prospective Payment System rules through ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse licensed by the state.
• Experience in hospital or long-term facility settings required.
• Experience completing MDS and care plans required.
• Knowledge of long-term care laws, regulations, and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Ensure appropriate reimbursement for patient care services.
• Assist in developing individualized patient care plans and identify needs/outcomes per regulations.
• Contribute to MDS process and electronic transmission of the MDS.
• Identify changes in patient condition with the interdisciplinary team and coordinate assessments.
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living training for staff and new hires.
• Attend educational programs to stay updated on RAI/Prospective Payment System regulations.

Responsibilities

• In this role, you will play a key role in meeting Genesis business objectives by ensuring the appropriate reimbursement for patient care services.
• Assist in the development individualized patient care plans, identify patient needs and projected outcomes as required by Federal and State regulations.
• Contribute to the nursing center interdisciplinary Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process while following RAI guidelines for completion, computer encoding and electronic transmission of the MDS.
• Identify changes in patient condition in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team and coordinate scheduling and completion of indicated assessments.
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living training for new hires and through ongoing continuing education to existing staff.
• Attend educational programs to maintain knowledge with current RAI/Prospective Payment System regulations.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse currently licensed by the state and in good standing.
• Previous experience in a hospital, long-term facility, or other healthcare related facility is required.
• Prior experience completing MDSs and Care Plans is required
• Must be knowledgeable of general, rehabilitative and restorative nursing and medical practices and procedures and laws, regulations and guidelines governing long-term care.
