Job Summary:

Coordinates accurate clinical records to ensure high-quality care for residents.

Essential Functions:
  1. Treats all information about residents, their conditions, and families as confidential.
  2. Ensures compliance with corporate and departmental policies and standards.
  3. Reviews and evaluates residents’ medical records.
  4. Identifies opportunities for improving resident care.
  5. Coordinates, monitors, updates, and ensures the accuracy and timeliness of computerized MDS/MMDS and care plans for all residents.
  6. Manages documentation and procedures for Medicaid residents to ensure proper reimbursement.
  7. Develops expertise in Homewood’s computerized MDS care planning and charting system.
  8. Provides backup support as House Supervisor.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
  1. Valid RN license in the state of practice.
  2. Compassion, understanding, and empathy for older adults.
  3. Management skills including effective communication, good judgment, reasoning, and coaching abilities.
  4. Knowledge of management, delegation, and motivation concepts.
  5. Ability to communicate effectively with residents at their level.
  6. Proactive approach to quality assurance issues.
  7. Detail-oriented with a focus on results and consistency.
  8. Analytical skills for problem identification and resolution.
Physical Requirements:

This leadership position requires standing and walking throughout the campus during shifts, responding to emergencies, and supporting staff. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds for resident lifts and transfers. Must react quickly and decisively in emergencies and with residents’ unexpected behaviors.
