Job summary

FutureCare in Baltimore seeks an RN Assessment Coordinator/MDS to lead the development and timely completion of the MDS per RAI processes and federal/state regulations. You will coordinate with the IDT to ensure accuracy.

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure to work in Maryland (MD or Compact State)
• 3+ years’ experience as an MDS-Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator including ICD-10 coding experience
• Progressive nursing experience preferably in a resident assessment environment
• Must possess managerial and interpersonal skills
• Proficient understanding of PDPM and clinical documentation requirements
• Ability to build positive relationships and work cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team
• Willingness to learn and teach, with adaptability to changes
• In-depth experience and knowledge with PDPM and CMI as related to Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate the development and accurate completion of the MDS in accordance with current RAI processes, Federal and state regulations.
• Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team and monitor clinical documentation to provide accurate and timely MDS scheduling and completion.
• Partner with IDT to evaluate Quality Measures.
• Review completed MDS assessments for accuracy, to include MDS software to review coding inconsistencies and opportunities, prior to locking MDS assessments.
