Job summary

Northern Montana Hospital is seeking a qualified nurse to conduct, coordinate, and monitor the Resident Assessment Instrument process in a long-term care setting. The role requires RN/LPN licensure in Montana and at least two years of LTC experience, along with strong CQI and RAI knowledge.

You will support Medicare-related billing, collaborate with the LTC team, and help ensure compliance with licensing and CMS requirements while maintaining up-to-date department policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited School of Nursing and hold a current RN/LPN license to practice in Montana.
  • Minimum two years of recent experience in a Long-Term Care facility.
  • Knowledge of resident age ranges and CQI data collection/interpretation.
  • Familiarity with the RAI process and related documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct, coordinate, and monitor the Resident Assessment Instrument process including MDS and care plans.
  • Participate in LTC Utilization Review meetings and understand Medicare PPS.
  • Collaborate with Biller to translate MDS/RUG data to Medicare billing.
  • Maintain knowledge of state/federal licensing and CMS requirements; develop and revise department policies.

About the role

Conduct, coordinate, and/or monitor the Resident Assessment Instrument Assessment process, including completion of the Minimum Data Set, Resident Assessment Protocols, and care plans. Participate in LTC Utilization Review meetings and maintain current knowledge of the Medicare Prospective Payment System. Work with LTC Biller to ensure accurate translation of MDS/RUG information to the Medicare bill. Maintains knowledge of State and Local licensing boards and all Federal Agency requirements for individual and nursing department. Develops, reviews and revises Department Policies & Procedures. Obtains & maintains AANAC Certification. Assists NMCC Administration with preparation for, and collaboration prior to and during LTC and CMS Survey process. Collaborates with LTC ADON/Staff development in conducting newly hired licensed staff documentation education and periodic Staff education on MDS and RAI process. Maintains LTC Infection Prevention Program.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing and hold a current RN/LPN license to practice professional nursing in the State of Montana.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience working in a Long-Term Care facility.
  • Possess knowledge relating to age of residents served.
  • Knowledge/skills in data collection and interpretation (tools of CQI).
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in RAI process.
