Dexter Health Care, part of First Atlantic Healthcare, is seeking a qualified MDS Coordinator to lead and coordinate resident assessments under state and federal guidelines, reporting to the Director of Nursing.

The role requires strong nursing assessment, care planning, and documentation skills with current Maine RN or LPN licensure; RAC-CT certification preferred, and proficiency with electronic medical records and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• MDS and ICD-10 coding experience preferred; RAC-CT certification preferred.
• Current Maine RN or LPN licensure required.
• Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills for a long term care population.

Responsibilities

• Assess/oversee MDS assessments and ensure coding accuracy per regulations.
• Review care plans for accuracy, appropriateness, and case mix validity.
• Coordinate and document care plans and MDS items; communicate due dates to the team.
• Instruct disciplines on proper procedures and CAAs, and use of the State Operations Manual.
• Maintain documentation approaches and ensure team compliance with regulations.
