Job summary

Sygnia is seeking a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to join our growing U.S. MDR team in Austin, Texas. You will monitor client environments, investigate alerts, and help protect some of the world's leading organizations.

This hands-on role uses Sygnia's Velocity platform to monitor client environments, investigate alerts, and identify emerging threats. You will conduct threat hunting, detection engineering, and collaborate with clients and MDR leadership on follow-the-sun operations.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in a SOC, MDR, or security operations environment.
• Hands-on experience investigating security alerts and responding to security incidents.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
• Understanding of modern cyber threats, attack techniques, and attacker methodologies.
• Experience with SIEM platforms (Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar, ArcSight, Exabeam).
• Familiarity with enterprise security tech (EDR, firewalls, Windows logs, identity platforms).
• Scripting or automation experience in Python or similar languages.
• Effective communication with technical teammates and customers.

Responsibilities

• Monitor client environments using Velocity to identify, investigate, and respond to security events.
• Perform alert triage, incident investigation, and threat analysis to meet service objectives.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting to identify hidden malicious activity.
• Differentiate legitimate incidents from false positives and define appropriate responses.
• Develop and improve detection logic, rules, and use cases for better monitoring.
• Correlate data from multiple security tools and logs to detect complex attacks.
• Provide timely client updates, incident reports, and actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with MDR leadership to keep investigation quality high and improve processes.
• Identify opportunities to automate workflows and enhance MDR efficiency.
• Suggest improvements to client visibility and security posture.
