Job summary

Sunset Search LLC in Austin, TX is seeking a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst - Tier II to join our MDR service delivery. You will analyze escalated alerts, perform threat hunting, guide containment and remediation, and mentor Tier I analysts.

You’ll collaborate with threat intelligence and IR teams, develop runbooks, and present incident findings to client executives. 3–5 years SOC experience, SIEM proficiency (Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar), MITRE ATT&CK familiarity, and relevant

Qualifications

• 3–5 years SOC experience (MDR, MSSP, or in-house).
• Proficiency in SIEM platforms: Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, IBM QRadar.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• Certifications (e.g., Security+, GCIA, GCIH, CISSP) desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication for client engagement.

Responsibilities

• Triage and analyze escalated security incidents using SIEM, EDR, and IDS/IPS tools
• Perform proactive threat hunting across client environments
• Collaborate with incident response teams to contain and eradicate threats
• Develop and refine runbooks/playbooks for SOC operations
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to Tier I analysts
• Prepare incident reports and present findings to client executives
