Job summary

Kronospan, the world leader in wood panel products, seeks a Finishing Operator Trainee for its Anniston, AL facility. You will train to perform operator roles in the MDF finishing area and assist with daily tasks and checks.

Responsibilities include maintaining production area cleanliness, following PDM, and collaborating with the team. Requirements include reading instructions, operating heavy machinery, and lifting up to 50 lbs; forklift training may be provided. Rotating shift.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow technical work instructions.
• Ability to operate or learn heavy machinery in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to work with electric, pneumatic, or hand tools.
• Forklift operation can be trained and certification pursued.
• Ability to read and manipulate metric measurements.
• Collaborative work with facility team and supervisors.

• Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in the MDF finishing area including energy plant, refiner, and press operator tasks.
• Assist equipment operators with day-to-day tasks and checks.
• Carry out routine and complex equipment inspections and maintenance as required.
• Keep the production area clean, organized, and safe.

Job Description

To become fully qualified to perform one or more operators' jobs in the MDF finishing area to include Energy Plant, Refiner, and Press Operator. They are also responsible for assisting equipment operators on day to day tasks. The Finishing Operator Trainee is responsible for performing assignments in accordance with PDM. They are responsible for performing routine and complicated equipment checks. The Finishing Operator Trainee is responsible for maintaining the production area in a clean and organized fashion.

Qualifications

• The ability to read and comprehend work instructions of a technical nature.
• The ability to operate or learn to operate heavy machinery.
• The ability to work with electric, pneumatic, or hand tools.
• The ability to be trained and become certified to operate a forklift.
• The ability to comprehend and manipulate metric measurements.
• The ability to work effectively with other members of the facility team.
• The ability to work without constant supervision.
• The ability to creatively problem-solve, individually or as part of a group.
• The ability to work in extreme heat and cold
• The ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders at a safe but rapid pace
