Job summary

Kronospan is seeking a Laminates Maintenance Technician to perform repairs, preventive/predictive maintenance, testing and process improvements on all mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic equipment on a rotating shift. You will diagnose, repair and optimize operations in a fast-paced industrial plant.

The role requires strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, the ability to read manuals and schematics, and willingness to work with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Advanced preventive maintenance and repair skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• 3–5 years' experience in a fast-paced industrial environment preferred.
• The ability to work without constant supervision and to solve problems creatively.
• Ability to work a day or rotating shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic equipment and systems
• Work closely with machine operators and electricians to ensure work is conducted in a safe manner
• Identify and correct potential electrical and mechanical safety hazards with management
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders; plan and lay out repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, manuals and schematics
• Maintain records of work performed in the PDM system
• Perform preventive maintenance procedures as scheduled in the PDM system or directed
• Conduct frequent plant walk-throughs to detect faulty operations and report issues
• Assist in ordering parts and equipment; obtain them from storerooms
• Assist in construction and repair projects requiring basic carpentry, masonry, and plumbing
• Assist in installation of new equipment, components and systems according to plans

Laminates Maintenance Technician, Rotating Shift

To conduct repairs, preventive/predictive maintenance, testing, and process improvements on all mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic equipment and systems. The maintenance technician must rely on their knowledge/education of mechanical and electrical principles in order to troubleshoot malfunctions to equipment. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic equipment and systems
• Work closely with machine operators and electricians to ensure work is conducted in a safe manner
• Work closely with management to identify and correct potential electrical and mechanical safety hazards
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service; plan and lay out repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams.
• Maintain record of work performed in accordance with PDM and maintenance and repair system
• Perform preventive maintenance procedures as scheduled in the PDM system or as directed
• Conduct frequent walk-through's of the plant to detect faulty operations and defective equipment and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Advise or assist in ordering parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms.
• Assist in construction and repair projects requiring basic level of carpentry, masonry, and plumbing knowledge
• Assist in installation of all new equipment, components, and systems according to plans and specifications

Demonstrated perfect or near-perfect attendance record

3-5 year's experience in a fast paced industrial environment preferred.
