Watercrest Winter Park is looking for a Memory Care Resident Caregiver to join their Resident Care team! You will ensure the day-to-day care of our residents is provided in a sensitive, professional, and effective manner in the Memory Care neighborhood, collaborating with dining and community programs to ensure the best quality of care for all residents.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist residents with personal care, activities of daily living, and activity engagement as assigned and requested by residents.
- Perform daily housekeeping tasks using established procedures and standards.
- Review and participate in reports such as 24 Hour Reports, Daily Logs, Shift Cross-over Reports, and Verbal Reports as needed.
- Assist residents to and from scheduled programs.
- Participate in resident programming when scheduled or as needed.
- Promote personal choices, independence, and spiritual needs.
- Perform laundry duties as assigned.
- Assist with cleaning and tidying of resident’s rooms.
- Respond to resident emergency calls.
- Dispose of all resident-used hygiene care products.
- Report all resident changes in condition immediately to the Memory Care Director or Resident Wellness Director.
- Check residents every two hours or as required.
- Maintain infection control practices.
- Report hazardous conditions and equipment to the Memory Care Director.
- Ensure equipment is cleaned and stored properly at shift end.
- Report burned out lights and emergency equipment issues promptly.
- Report all accidents and incidents immediately.
- Maintain confidentiality of residents’ personal care information.
- Honor residents’ personal and property rights.
- Be prepared for emergency situations including disasters and fire.
- Must be in uniform and resident-ready at all times.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Effective communication with all levels of management, residents, families, vendors, and outside contacts.
- Ability to make independent decisions.
- Warm, friendly, and caring communication style.
- Passion for working with seniors.
- Knowledge of customer service principles.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Certified Nursing Assistant/Personal Care Aide/Home Health Aide preferred, not required.
- Medication Assistance license/certification as per state regulations (if applicable).
- CPR and First Aid certifications.
Experience Requirements
- Experience with seniors in Memory Care preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Stand or walk 75% of the day.
- Concentrate with interruptions.
- Work under stress and in emergencies.
- Perform various physical activities including lifting up to 50 pounds.
