Job summary

Bechtel in Oak Ridge, TN seeks a Systems Engineer to help define facility and system functions and to perform design verification for the UPF project at the Y-12 Complex. You will develop system models using MBSE tools and coordinate verification activities with multiple disciplines.

The role requires US citizenship, an active Secret clearance (or ability to obtain one), and experience with design/change impact analysis. This is a long-term, high-impact program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience, or 6–9 years of equivalent work experience.
• US citizenship is required per contract.
• Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Experience with design and/or requirements change impact analysis.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and apply standard Systems Engineering methods and criteria.
• Develop system models using Model-Based Systems Engineering tools (e.g., IBM DOORS, Innoslate).
• Define facility/system functions and design requirements; prepare criteria documents.
• Coordinate system-level design verification, requirements verification, test specs, and traceability.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
• Assist project and construction management in addressing system requirements during execution.
