Job summary

SAIC seeks an experienced MBSE Engineer in San Diego, CA to support United States Air Force programs on-site. You will apply systems engineering methods across the full lifecycle, building architecture models with SysML, UPDM, and DoDAF, and lead requirements decomposition.

Collaborate with software, hardware, and test teams; perform trade studies and risk analyses; ensure traceability and interfaces, prepare technical docs, and present briefings to stakeholders. TS/SCI eligibility is desired.

Qualifications

• Active SECRET clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science.
• 5+ years of progressive systems engineering experience on complex programs.
• MBSE expertise with SysML, UPDM, or DoDAF.
• Familiarity with DoDAF/UPDM/UAF architecture frameworks.
• Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS or JAMA.
• INCOSE certification (e.g., CSEP, ASEP) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering principles across the full lifecycle from concept to disposal.
• Develop and maintain system architecture models using MBSE tools and methodologies (e.g., SysML, UPDM, DoDAF).
• Lead the definition, decomposition, and management of system requirements with traceability to objectives.
• Conduct trade studies, analyses of alternatives, and risk assessments.
• Define and manage system interfaces for interoperability between components.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and test engineers for cohesive design.
• Support system integration, verification, and validation activities.
• Prepare technical docs, system models, and stakeholder briefings.
• Work with program management to meet schedule and budget.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in SE.
