Job description

Position Overview

Our Air Traffic Systems Engineering Department has an opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join our ATS Air Traffic Control (ATC) team in Fullerton, CA, Omaha, NE or Marlborough, MA. This role supports the next generation of Air Traffic Control by replacing the Federal Aviation System’s aging legacy systems and requires occasional domestic travel.

Responsibilities
  • Perform system requirement assessments and interface requirements
  • Conduct networking and integration activities to support development, maintenance, and deployment of the system
  • Manage and generate systems engineering documentation for legacy and new products (design memos, specifications, diagrams, Interface Control Documents, test requirements/plans, optimization procedures) in support of projects
Qualifications – Required
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field
  • U.S. citizenship required; U.S. persons or those with an authorized immigration status eligible if required by the contract
  • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Proficiency with digital engineering tools (DOORS/DNG, Cameo, Microsoft Office Suite, Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience with system and subsystem-level requirements and verification documentation methods
  • Experience in systems engineering requirements activities: requirement derivation, interface allocations, systems integration, requirement sell‑off, requirements analysis, procedure development, test development, test execution, and evaluation of results
Qualifications – Preferred
  • Familiarity with generating and maintaining technical documentation such as specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Test Requirement Documents (TRDs), and Verification Cross Reference Matrices
  • Knowledge of Engineering Lifecycle Optimization (ELO) and use/development of scripts to automate documentation upload/download to and from Dynamic Object‑Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)
  • Experience with Agile Development Processes
  • Experience with AI/ML, modeling and simulation applications, Agile/Scrum, and Atlassian Jira/Confluence
