Systems Engineer – Technical Lead

Location: Fulton, MD

Role Type: Onsite

Responsibilities

• Lead small to medium engineering development teams.
• Perform full life cycle systems engineering tasks including system requirements analysis, definition, architecture design, trade studies, integration, verification and validation, formal testing, and software installation.
• Collaborate with department systems engineering subject matter experts to solve critical technical problems with innovative solutions.

Qualifications – Must Have

• Experience as lead systems or test engineer on a software development program.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in STEM with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance (DoD Secret).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Link 16 Tactical Data Link (J series messages), Command and Control (C2), Surveillance/Radars, Air Traffic Control, Mission Planning, Missile Systems, Combat/Fire Control Systems, or Shipboard Combat Systems such as Aegis and SSDS Mk II.
• Experience with Systems of Systems Software Integration and Test across Linux, Windows, Virtual Machines, and Containers.
• Proficiency in Java, C++, and scripting in Linux shells, PowerShell, and Python.
• Experience with on‑site customer software installation, systems integration, and leading formal software qualification tests and demonstrations.
• Understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Unified Modeling Language (UML).
• Experience with requirements development and requirements management tools such as DOORS.
• Experience with architecture development tools such as Cameo, Enterprise Architect, or Rational Suite.
• Knowledge of ISO/IEC/IEEE standards and common systems engineering practices.
