Job summary

MasterBrand Cabinets LLC is seeking a Finishing technician to safely and efficiently provide technical paint kitchen support in the Finishing department. The role requires strong technical skills and the ability to work with color, finishes and finishing processes.

1st shift includes 6am–4:30pm with overtime as needed. Eligible candidates may receive a $1,000 sign-on bonus and a perfect attendance bonus up to $1,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Hazardous Material and respirator certifications required.
• Strong communication to support department initiatives.
• Technical ability with color, finishes and finishing processes.
• Ability to read and use fixed-gauge measurement instruments (metric and standard).
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and carry out written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Mix topcoat, sealer and/or stain with reducers, additives and agitation.
• Schedule, record, and maintain departmental activity logs and reports.
• Mix color/topcoat/sealer onto parts on the overhead line.
• Monitor finish substance and adjust for temperature/humidity effects.
• Support safety programs and housekeeping in finishing.
• Rotate through finishing department positions as needed.
• Assist in material shipments and handling as required.

Job Description:

This position is responsible for safely and efficiently providing technical paint kitchen support to the Finishing department. This position requires strong technical skills.

YOUR ROLE:

• Mix topcoat, sealer and/or stain with correct number of reducers, additives, agitation, and under adequate temperatures to ensure material workability and performance.
• Schedule, record, track and maintain departmental activity logs and reports.
• Mix color/topcoat/sealer onto parts moving on overhead line.
• Monitor finish substance and adjust for correct volume and thickness in accordance with room temperature and humidity changes.
• May assist in or perform the moving and disposing of Hazardous Waste requirements.
• May load and unload trucks for material shipments.
• May assist as needed to perform flow rates, mil checks, and equipment set-ups.
• Rotate into other finishing department positions as required.
• Maintain and promote positive attitude, teamwork and cooperation.
• Support Continuous Improvement by participating in and sustaining the MasterBrand Production System (MPS).
• Follow and support safety initiatives and assist in development of safety programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Support Specialist.

Job Requirements/Skills:

• Demonstrated ability to meet, maintain, or exceed quality standards.
• Demonstrated ability to follow all established safety practices and procedures, including reading and understanding materials and safety data sheets.
• Knowledge of lock-out/tag-out policy.
• Maintain positive attitude, teamwork, and cooperation.

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing environment, with frequent exposure to wood dust, and cabinetmaking related materials.
• Exposure to hot and cold elements due to non-climate-controlled environment.
• Wearing of Personal Protection Equipment required: eye and ear protection.
• Adherence to Entanglement clothing policy required.

Sensory/ Physical Requirements:

• Frequent speaking, hearing, near vision, far vision and touch.
• Frequent head/neck static position, rotation, flexion and extension.
• Frequent change in torso/back position, frequent stooping, bending and twisting.
• Frequent finger dexterity.
• Frequent simple grasp, firm grasp and wrist flexion.
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, and climbing of stairs and ramps.
• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching and carrying.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive-motion tasks for the duration of working shift.

SHIFT:

• 1st shift hours: Monday – Thursday 6am to 4:30pm (some overtime required)

PAY:

• Offering eligible candidates a $1,000 sign-on bonus for 1st shift
• Minimum starting rate of $17 per hour and may vary based on previous experience
• Perfect Attendance Bonus of up to an additional $1,000 per year
