Job summary

Responsibilities
  • Execute preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment in the Company’s operation through assigned work orders in the CMMS system.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Test electrical systems and circuits in wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and megohmmeters.
  • Work with and train coworkers to install, maintain, or repair production equipment.
  • Plan layout and installation of utilities, equipment and fixtures based on job requirements and specifications.
  • Use a variety of tools and equipment, including power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, power construction equipment, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Maintain records and order parts and supplies as needed.
  • Identify problems in complex electrical systems, isolate issues, and implement solutions; read electrical blueprints and verify functionality before implementation.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic/technician in an industrial environment.
  • Experience with PLC controls and a strong understanding of operation.
  • Experience with VFDs and servo controls.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency with devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, megohmmeters, computers, infrared cameras, hand tools, scissor lifts, forklifts, lathes, welders, end mills, and hydraulic presses.
  • Strong mechanical, analytical, and solution-driven skills.
  • Excellent understanding of safety rules in an industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with industrial and electrical codes.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 2013.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to use deductive reasoning, logic, and problem-solving.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to stand and walk for the entire shift.
  • Able to lift and move 70+ pounds.
  • Able to kneel, squat, climb, and reach.
  • Able to work late and on weekends on occasion.
