Job summary

Cleveland Tool & Design in Georgia is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and run Mazak CNC lathes and mills in a precision shop. This hands-on role covers short-run production, prototypes, and tooling.

Requirements include 2+ years in CNC machining, Mazak/Mazatrol experience, blueprint reading, and GD&T proficiency. The position offers benefits and opportunities in tooling fabrication.

Qualifications

• mazak Mazatrol programming is preferred and Mazak experience is required
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T to tight tolerances
• Experience with precision measuring instruments and quality docs
• Strong math skills including trigonometry for machining

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate Mazak CNC turning centers and machining centers
• Write and edit Mazatrol, G-code/M-code programs on Mazak controls
• Perform full CNC setup including offsets, workholding, and tools
• Read blueprints and GD&T and hold tolerances to ±0.0005 inches
• Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, CMM and related tools
• Select tooling and speeds/feeds for diverse materials
• Troubleshoot tool wear, chatter, and dimensional issues
