Overview
BCTG’s direct manufacturing client is looking for an IBM Maximo Functional Consultant / Analyst to support a major separation program. The client is moving its manufacturing operations off its parent company’s systems and onto standalone platforms. The client already has a Maximo technical and configuration team in place. This role is the business-facing functional expert. You will guide the organization from its current “as-is” maintenance and asset management processes to a future “to-be” state on the standalone Maximo platform. You will make sure the business understands what Maximo can do and how to get the most value from it.
Responsibilities
- Assess current-state (“as-is”) maintenance, asset management, inventory and work management processes across manufacturing sites.
- Define future-state (“to-be”) business processes that use standard Maximo capabilities and best practices.
- Run fit-gap analysis between business needs and Maximo functionality, and recommend where to adopt standard functionality versus where a change is justified.
- Lead business workshops and capability walkthroughs so stakeholders understand what Maximo can do and how it supports their work.
- Advise the business on how to best use Maximo across Work Management, Assets/Locations, Preventive Maintenance, Job Plans, Inventory, Purchasing and Calibration.
- Translate business requirements into clear functional requirements and process documentation for the internal Maximo team.
- Act as the bridge between site maintenance, reliability, engineering, quality and operations teams and the internal Maximo team.
- Identify process changes and their impact on roles. Support business readiness, change management and adoption ahead of go-live.
- Support development of process documentation, work instructions and training content. Help business users understand the new ways of working.
- Validate that delivered functionality meets business needs during testing and UAT, and support the business through go-live and stabilization.
Must Have
- Strong understanding of Maximo’s out-of-the-box capabilities and EAM best practices.
- Experience in manufacturing or plant maintenance environments.
- Proven experience with current-state/future-state process design and fit-gap analysis.
- Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to explain Maximo capabilities to non-technical business users.
- Experience supporting business readiness, process change and adoption on Maximo implementations, upgrades or migrations.
Nice to Have
- Experience on divestiture, separation or carve-out programs.
- Medical device or other regulated (GxP) manufacturing experience.
- Familiarity with computer system validation (CSV) requirements.
- Background in maintenance, reliability or asset management operations (e.g., planner, reliability engineer, maintenance manager).
- Exposure to related manufacturing systems such as Siemens Opcenter, ROBAR or PIMS.
