Job summary

Maverick Casino & Hotel Elko is seeking a Groundman to maintain and enhance the outdoor spaces of our Elko property. You will perform landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, planting, and sprinkler maintenance, using hand and power tools as needed.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, the ability to work unsupervised, and a willingness to handle weekend shifts and potential overtime. We offer benefits and a supportive team environment in a rural Nevada setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and beautify the grounds of the property through mowing, trimming, planting, weeding, watering and fertilizing.
• Operate hand or power tools for landscaping tasks including sprinkler repair and painting parking lot lines when needed.
• Mow lawns with push or riding mowers; prune trees and shrubs; pressure wash outdoor surfaces.
• Sweep and clean exterior areas; manage trash and maintain a presentable exterior.
• Assist with general facilities maintenance as required and perform duties safely in outdoor environments.
• Seasonally assist with snow removal from walkways and parking lots.

Groundman - Maverick Casino & Hotel Elko

Groundman - Landscape and maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Shall perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, weeding, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, sprinkler repair, removing trash and keeping all properties clean.

• Empty exterior trash cans, dog bag stations and ashtrays.
• Maintain and repair sprinkler systems.
• Mow lawns using a provide push mower or riding lawn mower.
• Pull weeds, trim small trees/bushes, and other landscaping related work as needed.
• Pressure wash trash cans, sidewalks, trash compactor and other items/areas as needed.
• Sweep all parking lots with broom, sweeper and/or blower.
• Snow removal from walkways and parking lots during the winter.
• Maintain a clean and presentable exterior/grounds for all Elko properties.
• Other various outdoor and grounds related tasks such as painting parking lot lines.
• Other duties as required, which may include facilities maintenance related tasks.

Requirements

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position typically works day shift but requires weekend availability and possible overtime. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work outside in the elements. Dress attire is a provided uniform.
