Job summary

Hawaiian Building Maintenance on Maui is seeking a part-time Custodian Floater to support multiple sites across the island. You will perform cleaning tasks, maintain safe, clean communal areas, and travel between worksites as needed.

This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, follow English instructions, and work independently or with a team. Schedule is Mon-Fri 5:00 PM–8:00 PM (15 hours/week) with competitive pay of $16 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must pass HBM prescreen check.
• Must have a valid Hawaii driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Prior janitorial/custodian experience preferred; training available.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Good public relations and communication skills.
• Able to perform physical labor; lift up to 50 lbs; stand/walk long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Travel to various assigned worksites within a single day.
• Execute scheduled cleaning services according to site timelines.
• Maintain a safe and pleasant environment for occupants.
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Work independently or as part of a team.
• Properly utilize and care for custodial equipment and supplies.
• Report issues to the Supervisor while safeguarding client property.
• Clean and sanitize common areas: sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, empty trash, restock.
• Inspect sidewalks, parking areas, and entrances for cleanliness.
