Role Description

The Matterport 3D Scan Technician is a contract, hybrid role based in McAllen, TX, with a mix of on-site property visits and work-from-home tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities include traveling to assigned locations across the Rio Grande Valley, setting up and operating the Matterport Pro3 or similar 3D scanning equipment, and capturing accurate, high-quality scans of residential and commercial properties. The technician will manage scan planning, organize and label scan data, upload projects to the Matterport platform, and verify that virtual tours meet company standards and client requirements. Additional tasks may include basic post-processing, coordinating schedules with clients, maintaining equipment, and communicating project status to the owner or project manager. The role requires flexible availability, reliable transportation, and a strong commitment to punctuality, detail, and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience with Matterport or comparable 3D scanning systems, including equipment setup, calibration, and on-site capture.
• Working knowledge of real estate or property marketing workflows, such as MLS listing requirements and virtual tour best practices.
• Comfort with basic computer tasks, cloud platforms, and file management for uploading, organizing, and sharing 3D scan data.
• Strong attention to detail, spatial awareness, and ability to follow site instructions and scanning protocols.
• Clear, professional communication skills for coordinating appointments and interacting with clients and property stakeholders.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout the Rio Grande Valley; willingness to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision in a hybrid work setting.
• Previous experience in photography, videography, or drone operations is a plus.
