Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts in Boston seeks a Server Assistant to support our Food & Beverage operations and uphold Forbes-level service standards. You will help create elevated dining experiences by assisting servers, maintaining pristine dining spaces, and ensuring smooth service delivery.

Ideal candidates have prior luxury hospitality experience, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fine dining or luxury hospitality setting.
• Strong attention to detail and guest-centric service mindset.
• Fluent English; additional languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reset and maintain tables between seatings quickly and accurately.
• Assist servers with timely delivery of food and beverages.
• Keep dining spaces clean and pristine, including floors and surfaces.
• Stock service stations with napkins, silverware, and condiments.
• Support service flow by refilling water and non-alcoholic drinks.
• Maintain cleanliness in back-of-house service areas.
• Transport and separate used china, glassware, and flatware for cleaning.
• Participate in daily briefings and service training.
• Collaborate with culinary, bar, and stewarding teams for smooth service.
• Take on additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Position Overview

As a Server Assistant, you play an essential supporting role in our Food & Beverage operation. You are the unseen elegance behind every polished table setting, the extra pair of hands that ensures service flows effortlessly, and a key contributor to the refined ambiance our guests expect. With poise and presence, you’ll help create memorable, elevated dining experiences-while upholding the highest service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Reset and maintain tables with speed, grace, and precision between seatings


• Assist servers with timely delivery of food and beverages to guest tables


• Ensure dining spaces remain pristine, including floors, chairs, windows, and surfaces


• Stock and replenish service stations with napkins, silverware, condiments, and other essentials


• Support the flow of service by filling water glasses and serving non-alcoholic beverages


• Maintain organization and sanitation standards in back-of-house service areas


• Transport and separate used china, glassware, and flatware for cleaning


• Participate in daily briefings and service training to uphold Forbes-level service standards


• Collaborate with the culinary, bar, and stewarding teams to ensure smooth service delivery


• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership to support dining operations

Required Skills & Experience

• Prior experience in a fine dining or luxury hospitality setting is strongly preferred


• Strong attention to detail and a collaborative, service-focused mindset


• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus


• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, and stand or walk for extended periods


• Comfortable bending, kneeling, and handling hot or heavy trays


• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs
