Job summary

Elizabethtown Community & Technical College is seeking a regular, full-time Mathematics Tutor for the TRIO Student Support Services grant at the Elizabethtown campus. The position provides on-site tutoring to support student success for a 10-month cycle (August–May) with annual grant evaluations through 2030.

Salary is $21.50 per hour, with standard hours 37.5 weekly, and benefits including health, retirement, and paid time off. Position starts January 2026; review begins October 15, 2026.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Science, Education, or related field and two years related experience, or equivalent.
• Strong written and oral communication, teamwork, and time management.
• Ability to assess student needs and provide appropriate assistance, with proficiency in MS Word/Excel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intakes and assist participants in developing an educational plan.
• Plan activities for educational and cultural awareness and career exploration.
• Develop and implement peer tutor training.
• Tutor individuals and small groups in mathematics, as needed.
• Assist with selection of program participants and APR completion.
• Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Job Summary

ECTC Springfield Campus is seeking a regular, full-time 10-month (August – May) Mathematics tutor for the TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) grant to provide students with math tutoring.

This is a grant-funded position through August 31, 2030, with annual evaluations.

Job Duties

• Conducts intakes and assists participants in developing an educational plan.
• Plans activities for educational and cultural awareness and career exploration.
• Helps develop and conduct the Risk Assessment program.
• Tutor individual and small groups in mathematics, as needed.
• Develops and implements peer tutor training.
• Assists with the selection of program participants and completion of the Annual Performance Report (APR).
• Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Math, Science, Education, or related field and two years related experience, or equivalent.

Successful candidates should demonstrate:

• Demonstrate success in overcoming barriers similar to those of the target population.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively on a team.
• Ability to apply critical thinking to assess the skill level and abilities of students and provide appropriate assistance.
• Strong time management, organizational, and people skills.
• Proficient computer skills, particularly in MS Word, MS Access, and MS Excel.
• Proficient in developmental math topics through calculus.
