Job summary

Rose Tree Media School District in Media, PA seeks an Extended Substitute Mathematics Teacher for Penncrest High School, approx. 09/07 to 11/23, paid $180/day through Kelly Education.

The ideal candidate will engage students in developing strong mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and analytical thinking as part of standards-aligned instruction. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in mathematics or related field and a PA Teaching Certification (7–12).

COMPENSATION:KELLY EDUCATION - $180/day

The Rose Tree Media School District and Penncrest High School seek a dynamic and student-centered Mathematics Teacher who engages students in developing strong mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and analytical thinking skills. The ideal candidate designs engaging, standards-aligned instruction that promotes conceptual understanding while helping students apply mathematical concepts to real-world situations. We are seeking an educator who creates a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students can actively participate, collaborate, and develop confidence as mathematical thinkers. The successful candidate understands the opportunities presented by block scheduling and utilizes instructional strategies that promote student engagement, inquiry, and deeper learning. The successful candidate will be hired through Kelly Education.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field.
• Active and valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in Mathematics (7–12).
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned mathematics instruction that promotes conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, and problem-solving.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and support student growth.
• Commitment to developing students' critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills through mathematics.
• Experience using assessment data to inform instruction and monitor student progress.
• Ability to effectively utilize a block schedule instructional model to support student engagement and deeper learning.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
• Experience integrating technology and digital tools to support mathematics instruction and student engagement.
