Job summary

Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin, TN invites applications for an Instructor of Mathematics for the 9/10 month term. The role encompasses delivering quality instruction across multiple delivery formats and participating in assessment of course and program outcomes.

The instructor will engage in service activities supporting the college’s mission, contribute to curriculum development and accreditation efforts, and maintain up-to-date subject-matter expertise while adhering to policies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution or a Master’s degree plus 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
• Collegiate-level teaching experience.
• Ability to use a learning management system for course delivery and maintenance of course records.

Responsibilities

• Teach 15 semester credit hours and hold additional in-person and virtual office hours.
• Teach 28–32 semester credit hours across Fall and Spring semesters.
• Teach evening, weekend, off-campus, dual enrollment, and distance-based courses as required.
• Contribute to program and curriculum development and accreditation efforts as applicable.
• Attend trainings and submit attendance reports, grades, and other required information.
• Support student recruitment, retention, and mentorship activities.
