Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin, TN seeks an Instructor of Chemistry for a 9/10 month term. The position delivers quality instruction in multiple formats, supports student learning, and participates in program assessment and accreditation efforts. Expect 37.5-hour weeks, 15 credit hours, and service duties including mentoring and advising.

Anticipated start date January 2027. Master’s in chemistry or related field required; master’s plus 18 graduate hours also acceptable;

Qualifications

• Master's degree in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
• Alternatively, a Master’s degree plus 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
• Collegiate-level teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach 15 semester credit hours and maintain office hours.
• Teach 28–32 semester credit hours across Fall and Spring.
• Contribute to program and curriculum development and accreditation efforts.
• Participate in student recruitment and retention activities.
• Complete administrative duties and attend required trainings.
