Job summary

Northern Virginia Community College is seeking adjunct faculty to teach Mathematics across face-to-face, remote, and online formats. Adjuncts teach up to 12 credit hours in fall and spring, or up to 8 in summer; teaching load depends on enrollment and staffing; no guarantee of continued employment.

Required: Bachelor’s in Mathematics or Master’s with 18 graduate credits in Mathematics. Must reside in the Virginia, DC, Maryland area and commit to an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Master’s with 18 graduate credits in mathematics.
• Experience teaching in higher education or community college preferred.
• Commitment to inclusive teaching and diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Teach specific mathematics classes (face-to-face, remote, and online).
• Develop syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
• Adhere to NOVA and VCCS policies and procedures.
