Job summary

NOVA seeks adjunct faculty in Mathematics to teach courses across face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats. Adjuncts teach up to 12 credits in fall/spring and up to 8 credits in summer, with load based on enrollment and staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Mathematics Education, or equivalent training & experience.
• Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credits in mathematics.
• Experience teaching in higher education, especially in a community college.
• Experience teaching in classroom, hybrid, and online formats.
• Commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive working and learning environment.
• Experience teaching students from diverse language backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Teach specific classes in the designated discipline.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of NOVA and the VCCS.
• Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization.
