Job summary

The Culinary Institute of America seeks an adjunct faculty member to teach Math for the Professional Kitchen (MTSC-100) and uphold a high standard of professionalism. This role includes teaching, mentoring, and maintaining classroom procedures in alignment with CIA policies.

Responsibilities include preparing daily lesson plans, advising students, providing timely feedback, recording grades, and managing instructional materials in accordance with the college catalog and syllabi.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Teaching experience required.
• Knowledge of general subject area required.
• Experience with Moodle preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily lesson plans and teach classes as requested and scheduled, in line with Institute policies.
• Advise students who may need extra help or guidance with coursework and career advice.
• Provide regular, constructive feedback; evaluate and document student performance; file grades on time.
• Evaluate and document student performance using established methods and criteria; file grades promptly.
• Maintain attendance records and ensure proper discipline during activities.
• Utilize the syllabus and textbooks for course content; comply with College Catalog and outlines.
• Ensure sanitation and professional policies are followed; uphold Institute's policies.
• Assist with equipment and facilities; perform other duties as assigned.
