Job summary
Volunteer State Community College is seeking an Adjunct Instructor- Mathematics (Pool) to deliver quality instruction using integrative technologies. Courses may be taught on ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced modalities, including evening and weekend sessions and dual enrollment.
The position requires a Master’s in Mathematics with 18 graduate hours in Mathematics and prior collegiate teaching experience.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Mathematics or related field.
- 18 graduate hours in Mathematics (not Mathematics Education).
- Collegiate level teaching experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses via on ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced modalities as assigned.
- Teach evening, weekend, off-campus, dual enrollment and distance-based courses as required.
- Submit class syllabus or update department syllabus at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of class or within seven days of the execution of contract.
- Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend.
- Submit final grades by the Registrar deadline.
- Complete required trainings and reports (attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions).
- Advise the Department Chair if unable to teach a class.
- Attend requested meetings and comply with policies.
