Job summary
Math Corps, powered by Ampact, is seeking a Math Tutor to help students build essential math skills in a local school. You’ll tutor groups of up to 3 for 20–30 minutes, following a structured routine and coaching from an on-site supervisor.
Trainings will be provided, and AmeriCorps members receive a biweekly stipend and education awards. This role fits a part-time schedule (25 hours/week) or full-time equivalents during the 2026-27 school year.
Qualifications
- Dependable with a history of good attendance.
- Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
- Proficient in basic computer skills (like email and navigating online).
- Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
- 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
Responsibilities
- Be a caring adult who's focused on helping children thrive
- Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support
- Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach
- Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores in data software
- Commit to your own growth through coaching and training
- Share your experience with the community
