Terms of Employment:
This is a part-time- up to 19 hours per week (up to 5 hours/day 2-4 days per week), FLSA non-exempt position

Education and Certifications

• High school graduate required
• Bachelor's degree from accredited university preferred
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned preferred

Experience

• Previous work with students at any grade in levels K-8 preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties

Instructional Strategies

• Instructional Delivery: Execute the assigned math lessons faithfully for each targeted group.
• Progress Reporting: Regularly record and report student performance data and skill mastery back to the Intervention Manager.
• Implement lessons designed by classroom teachers that fulfill the requirements of the school's curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.
• Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
• Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
• Work cooperatively with teachers to modify curricula as needed for students.
• Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to school requirements.
• Use technology as available to strengthen the teaching/learning process.

Student Growth and Development

• Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
• Informally assess students to determine needs and adaptations for instruction.
• Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of school.

Classroom Management and Organization

• Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Utilize books, equipment, and other instructional materials appropriately.
• Group Management: Maintain designated ratios during active instruction.

Communication

• Establish and maintain open lines of communication with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
• Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students and parents.
• Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.

Other

• Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
• Assist with maintaining all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress
• May include standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing as well as moving small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
