EASTCONN Quinebaug Middle College (QMC) Magnet High School in Killingly, Connecticut is seeking two hourly part-time Math Tutors to deliver high-dosage math instruction for students with special needs. The role is funded through a grant for the 2026–2027 school year.

Tutors will conduct 30-minute sessions, work with individuals or small groups, and participate in extensive training including Safety Care. Starting immediately, duration through June 4, 2027.

Qualifications

• Interest in math instruction and helping students with diverse needs.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to follow instructional plans and implement feedback.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted math tutoring to one or two students at a time in 30-minute sessions.
• Identify and address gaps in foundational math skills.
• Deliver explicit, structured instruction tailored to students’ needs.
• Build positive, supportive relationships to promote engagement and growth.
• Implement instructional and behavioral strategies per program expectations and Safety Care.
• Participate in required training related to behavior management and instruction.
• Collaborate with teachers to align tutoring with classroom goals.
• Monitor student progress and communicate outcomes to staff.
• Maintain a safe, structured learning environment.
