Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a tutor to support high school students in mathematics and to help them apply Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel in coursework. The role emphasizes clear communication, patience, and collaboration within a diverse campus environment.

Responsibilities include tutoring within the UBMS program, assisting students with MCC systems, and participating in scheduled activities. A college degree milestone or completion and a solid GPA are expected.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of subject matter to be tutored.
  • Ability to explain complex subject matter with patience and attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to learn new software.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other college-supported systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, including active listening.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate cooperation and professionalism in stressful situations.
  • Ability to work and interact effectively with various cultures and ethnicities.
  • Associate’s degree in progress or completed.
  • Overall cumulative GPA of 3.25 or better.
  • Received a “B” or better in math.
  • Must pass a background check.
