Job summary

StudentNest Inc. is seeking tutors to deliver math instruction to middle school students at district sites in Los Angeles. You will use provided curricula and educational technology to support learning in small groups.

You will differentiate instruction to meet diverse needs, prepare lesson plans, and help students build confidence and academic achievement. A fingerprint background check is required, with references and 60 college credits requested.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of sixty college credits.
• One year of student-related experience preferred.
• Fingerprinting/ DOJ-FBI clearance required within 48 hours of offer.

Schedule

• Mon, Weds & Thurs, 3:00 PM TO 5:00 PM.

Hours

• 9-12 hours per week, with the possibility of 12+ hours per week within 30 days by working additional virtual or in-person hours.

Pay

• $23 per hour standard
• $24 per hour if bilingual (Spanish or other preferred language based on site request)
• $25 per hour if credentialed teacher or certificated tutor

In This Role, You Will

• Deliver targeted instruction in math to support middle school aged students
• Provide small-group tutoring using provided curriculum, evidence-based strategies, and educational technology.
• Differentiate teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles, academic needs, and developmental levels.
• Prepare lesson plans for sessions during designated preparation time.

This role is a great fit if you

• Can complete the fingerprinting process within forty eight hours of an offer
• In this role you will need to be able to meet DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance requirements for this position
• You can provide three professional references
• You have a minimum of sixty units of college credits
• You have at least one year of student-related experience
