Job summary

Sylvan is seeking a dedicated math tutor to support students in Algebra 2 and Geometry. You will provide personalized instruction across ages from elementary to high school, with a focus on engaging, low-stress learning environments.

The role emphasizes teaching over busy work, while Sylvan handles lesson planning and parental meetings. Ideal candidates are state-certified teachers with a Secondary Education PEL and can commit 6–10 hours weekly during late afternoons and Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Must be a state-certified teacher with a PEL in Secondary Education (current, in progress, or expired).
• Ability to work 6-10 hours per week between 3-7pm Mon–Thu and Saturdays 10:00am–2:00pm.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized math tutoring for Algebra 2 and Geometry.

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate math tutor to join our educational team! The ideal candidate will have experience tutoring or teaching math through at least high school Algebra 2 and Geometry. This role involves working with students of various ages including elementary, middle school, and high school to provide personalized instruction.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidates will be a state-certified teacher with a PEL in Secondary Education (working towards, current, or expired).

• Proficiency in utilizing learning technology to facilitate instruction and improve student engagement.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with diverse learners.
• A passion for education and a commitment to helping students succeed academically.
• Higher salary for candidates with the ability to teach additional high school subjects including ACT/SAT prep.
