Job summary

Sylvan Learning in Glenview, IL is seeking a dedicated math tutor to support students from elementary through high school. You will tutor Algebra 2 and Geometry, with a flexible schedule and minimal administrative tasks.

We offer a low-stress teaching environment, where lesson planning and parent meetings are handled by the center, allowing you to focus on effective instruction and student engagement.

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate math tutor to join our educational team! The ideal candidate will have experience tutoring or teaching math through at least high school Algebra 2 and Geometry. This role involves working with students of various ages including elementary, middle school, and high school to provide personalized instruction.

You set your schedule - choose what days and times work best with your schedule. Our instructional hours are from 3-7pm Mon - Thurs and Saturdays from 10am - 2pm. Ideally, we are looking for candidates who can work 2 or more shifts per week.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidates will be a state-certified teacher with a PEL in Secondary Education (working towards, current, or expired).
• Ability to work 6-10 hours a week between the hours of 3-7pm Mon-Thur and/or Saturdays from 10:00am - 2:00pm.
• Proficiency in utilizing learning technology to facilitate instruction and improve student engagement.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with diverse learners.
• A passion for education and a commitment to helping students succeed academically.
• Higher salary for candidates with the ability to teach additional high school subjects including ACT/SAT prep.
