Job summary

Lowell Community Charter Public School is seeking an experienced teacher to join our team. The role involves delivering instruction across K1-8 content areas, aligning with state standards, and supporting a diverse student population including linguistically varied learners and students with IEPs/504 plans.

Candidates should hold MA State certification and have a background in language acquisition or working with diverse SES backgrounds.

Qualifications

• MA State certification with appropriate endorsement(s) required.
• Experience as a school teacher in the posted subject area preferred.
• Second language or language acquisition background preferred.
• Experience working with students from diverse SES backgrounds and cultures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Believes that smart is something everyone can get.
• Teaches content and skills in subject area to students utilizing curriculum designated by the school.
• Participate in meetings and work collaboratively on projects.
• Teach students of the full range of abilities and interests.
• Contribute to curriculum, instructional materials, assessment tools, and lesson plans.
• Plan and provide clear and intentional focused instruction using state standards and student needs.
• Supports all students including linguistically diverse learners and those with IEP/504 plans.
• Collaborates with other faculty and builds relationships with students.
• Fosters independent thinking, creative problem solving, and abstract reasoning.
• Builds strong relationships with all students and addresses individual learning needs.
• Uses multiple data sources to assess progress and modify instruction.
• Communicates with parents to foster student success and achievement.
• Maintains a safe, positive learning environment.
• Participates in meetings for school initiatives and addressing student needs.
• Implements School policies and Code of Professional Conduct.
• Leads Morning Meeting/Advisory/Restorative Circles several times a week.
• Plans and delivers an enrichment block several times a week.
• Delivers Leader in Me curriculum weekly.
